Business Traveler
Its OK to stay for a little while and convenient to meet people because of its vicinity.

This hotel is very nice for the money, however it is quite a distance from many of the downtown London attractions. One Londoner referred to it as the outer Mongolia of London. Be prepared to spend 30-40 minutes taking the train to and from downtown (plus another 10-15 minutes walking to/from the train station). Taking a cab from downtown will cost you about 45 pounds. As for the hotel itself, it is perfectly respectable. Nothing outstanding as far as amenities (example: the beds are standard hotel beds, no fancy mattresses or anything), but there are some minor convenient features such as ironing board, trouser press, and complementary bottled water. The staff is friendly and very willing to help with any request. There is a bar/restaurant in the lobby that I did not dine at, but had a very friendly bartender. The hotel is quite nice. ...read more

The staff is friendly, the room was clean and the hotel bar was well-stocked. We were within 5 minutes walk to any necessities (pub, convenience stores, etc) and felt really safe at all hours of the night. The Wembley Park Tube station was about a 12 minute walk away and a large grocery store (ASDA) was about 15 minutes away; both very manageable in good shoes! If you are taking the tube from here to main attractions, bet on about an hour each way for the commute, which is not so bad if you have no time constraints. Cons for this hotel: no fridge or coffee maker, no microwave, no cable, and no heat or AC in the room. Having a fridge and microwave would be been very helpful so that we didn't have to eat every meal in a restaurant or resort to non-perishables all the time. This may seem like a tall order. ...read more

Room was smelly, furniture was new in the 1960's, carpets were old and torn, sink was cracked, sink and bath were old and marked, shower curtain had been patched up in a number of places. Cheek to call it 3 star. Do not stay for more then one night and only if you are desperate. ...read more
